Dining Table
Building this wooden cherry dining room table involved using a range of tools and techniques to achieve both precision and durability, ensuring a high-quality, handcrafted piece. This table is the largest project I have ever taken on. It is a 90” x 40” table from solid cherry. All pieces of both the table and the bench were glued face to face to give each piece a larger and more farm-style look. This project was a request from my aunt because they wanted a piece that would last them generations without having to pay an insane amount of money. This project has taught me many things about fine woodworking and the methods used to achieve a professional-grade product. This project has helped me become a natural at using a wide variety of tools including the chop saw, track saw, band saw, table saw, jointer, planer, sander, and hand sander. To finish this table I used General Finished water-based poly and Minwax Jacobean stain. This project was a challenge but also so much fun.
