My name is Aiden Loucks and I am an aspiring woodworker out of western New York.

I have always loved the art of woodworking. The way I can bend the wood into any shape or design imaginable has always been something I love. I grew up woodworking; at the age of one, I was handed a saw and a piece of foam and taught how to cut it into pieces. From then on, I was in love with woodworking. As the years went on, my love for woodworking grew stronger. What started with cutting foam into shapes as a young child evolved into cutting shapes out of wood. With each new project, I found myself learning more about tools, techniques, and the patience that would be required to master the craft I love. It wasn’t just about creating something functional; it was about expressing myself through each cut, carve, and joint. I have enjoyed learning the importance of precision, finding the perfect grain, and how every piece of wood has its personality, telling its own story.

I began experimenting with more intricate designs and pushing myself to create pieces that challenged my skills. The satisfaction of transforming a rough piece of wood into something beautiful or practical was amazing. I learned that each mistake, each imperfection, was a chance to improve and grow. In woodworking, every setback became an opportunity for creativity—sometimes even leading to unexpected results that were better than the original vision.

Over time, woodworking became more than just a hobby; it became a way of life. It’s where I go to clear my mind, where I find peace in the rhythm of sanding, cutting, and shaping. And every piece I create carries a piece of me, a part of my journey. I now see woodworking not just as an art but as a legacy—one that connects generations, linking the past with the present through the craftsmanship that endures. It's a gift that I can pass on, just as it was passed on to me from my grandpa. I am very excited to grow my knowledge of woodworking. I can’t wait to see the amazing projects I learn to make.
